Jamaica and Tourism

This interview was done in 2008 with Basil Smith who is the former Director of Tourism. We were actually sitting in his back yard holding the interview. He actually invited us in and gave us a tour of his home. It was beautiful, but what I think was most awesome is a volume of books he has with a collection/history of Jamaican art.

The artwork dates all the way back to slavery and gives you an insight into what life was like on a plantation. From the clothing, tho the to the scenery, to the layout of the plantation, to the slaves themselves. A lot of the art was done by pencil and there was so much detail to the drawings.

The reason you don't see me during the interview is because I was doing the camera work as well. I tend to do camera on most of my projects and whenever I get a chance. Hope you enjoy!
